entwined on a wraparound porch (pantoum)

Image

when there was iced peppermint tea and open windows

Spring breezes giggle between tulip petals

which hide within the scent of sighing hyacinths

we tend to welcome the nearness of a thunderstorm

Spring breezes giggle between tulip petals

harmonizing with hummingbirds and buzzing bees

we tend to welcome the nearness of a thunderstorm

to experience Mother Nature’s orchestra

harmonizing with hummingbirds and buzzing bees

wind chimes become willing seducers

to experience Mother Nature’s orchestra

in the crescendo of the season’s climax

wind chimes become willing seducers

like the whispers of the wind on napes of necks

in the crescendo of the season’s climax

raindrops cool the longing of bare skin

unwanted goodbyes beckon the tears

which hide within the scent of sighing hyacinths

who in the future will tell the story

when there was iced peppermint tea and open windows
