dearly beloved,

dearly beloved,

when i go home
do not insult me
by steppin to my dirge
out of rhythm
in ugly shoes

i beg you to let brass break sadness
smile when you sing
pay homage to my mind and heart
by twirling parasols of emerald and amethyst

treat my ashes like the holiest of waters
sprinkle some where those who thirst for Light
can sip them and get drunk off Love
dance with what remains as they reunite with the atlantic
floating in salted air like hot buttered jazz notes
before they mate with the surf
with one last kiss
