circus act

circus act

force fed spun sweetness
lasting as long as the moist excitement of tongue tips
nothing really solid to swallow
shallow painted smiles from clowns
who cart wheeled round rings of commitment
avoiding shit
from elephants
packing themselves into a car
their colorful costumes
honking horns
made them undistinguishable
next time purchase popcorn at the parade
where hope has floats.
